Just One of Those Days

Today I had issues. The day didn't start off so bad until I had to go into town to get some groceries for my brother. Now my truck is a Rav4 and there is no trunk, there is just open space behind the back seat.; the 5th door swings open to get into the back. When I got groceries, I put eveything in the back and closed the door. After a couple slow turns into another parking lot, the milk had tipped over and me, not wanting it to lie upside down for the next half hour, decided to open the door to reposition it. When I opened the door, the milk slid out and fell straight to the ground with a disturbing smack. This was not a slow fall like in the movies where you have the chance to catch it, this gallon of milk fell out so fast all I saw was the door open and then milk being shot all over me. I was literally covered head to toe in milk. How exactly the milk could shoot up to my head is a mystery because I am 5'9'' - not exactly short. I grudgingly carried the broken leaking gallon of milk across the parking lot to the garbage can before stalking into yet another store to retrieve a new gallon of milk.
My irritation with milk discouraged me from filming anything today so when I got home I watched Killers to make me feal better. Watching people shoot and blowup others is always a good way to soothe your mind - as evidence, I slept very well last night and I contribute that to Iron Man which I watched just before going to bed. Overall, my best movie picks for relaxing would be: Repo! The Genetic Opera, I am Number Four, and Taken - my tv picks would be The Walking Dead, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and NCIS. Currently, I am watching Little Sunshine. It's not one of my favorites and the first time I watched it the plot was unclear and boring but I chose it as a background to surfing the internet - not too interesting and not boring enough to put me to sleep.
The job search has come to a screeching halt until Monday. We are suppose to have a New Years Eve party but I've never been one to party for the beginning of a new year. I prefer to not start a new year being drunk or hung over - I think it's a bad sign for the rest of the year. I think I may film it though.
I have become slightly obsessed with filmmaking recently, perhaps out of boredom or lack of motivation for anything else. My Canon Vixia HF M300 has been a very good beginner camera (especially since there is NO way I could possibly afford a professional camera). I have a wide angle lens and a bunch of filters in my bag but I'm still waiting to get the money to get a shotgun microphone, a boom mic, and some more lighting. With my Sony Vegas 11 that I got for Christmas, I'm still learning the functions and when I feel more comfortable I will begin the filmaking process of scriptwriting, casting, and location finding.

Movies and jobs

Last night I went to the movies and saw Sherlock Holmes 2: the Game of Shadows. It was very very good. I laughed, I almost cried and then I laughed some more. Robert Downey Jr's humor is still top notch and I like how this movie included more action and drama. Although I did enjoy Downey dressed as a woman (the 5 o'clock shadow was a nice touch), I preferred the last 1/3 of the movie to the first 2/3. I am a Robert Downey Jr fan and most of his movies are really good so now I am simply waiting semi-patiently for the Avengers to come out. Until then I will supliment my excessive need for well written movies by watching Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and the Iron Man movies.
This morning, I applied to two security guard jobs and one production job. One of the security guard jobs was for the gas drilling that is being done in the area and all three jobs were for out of state so hopefully I will be out of NY by this time next year. I am still hoping to get in shape to join the military but at least this way I might have a job to pay my college loans while work at losing weight and gaining muscle.
Not sure exactly what I'll do for the rest of the day. I've started reading the Accidental Hero again so maybe I'll continue that or possibly work on one of my own stories.

Christmas Eve

I was watching 8 Crazy Nights when I realized it was probably the most realistic cartoon ever. The townspeople are horribly cruel to Whitey and the way everyone picks on him and his sister is the way people actually act. This was my sad realisation for Christmas. I think if people actually started to not only think of other people but put themselves in other people's shoes, humanity might be better for everyone. There was also an article on AOL that discussed homeless kids in NYC who were homosexuals. Their parents kicked them out when they came out of the closet. This is another example of people failing humanity. If we truly thought about other people, we would not be able to have a happy holiday season knowing kids are starving in the streets because their parents disowned them for being different. I urge everyone to at the very least do some research about others. If you are a hardcore Christian, do some research on atheists and vice verse. Same with Muslims and Jews, rednecks and rich city folk, republican and democrats, whites/hispanics/and blacks. In your comfortable couch next to a fireplace do a google search on homeless teens in your area and see what you find.
I don't think I've put personal information up yet so I think in the holiday season I will tell you a little about myself. However, if I get threats or identity problems just know that I wanted to be a spy when I was younger and I know some people in a couple of the alphabet agencies so watch yourself.
If you couldn't tell I am an atheist. I was a Christian my entire life until I started college and started to question why I believed what I believed. When no other answers came aside from 'because that's what I was taught,' I started to look at other religions around the world from Islam and Wicca to the Greek Gods. I couldn't argue with the fact that most of the world is Christian/Jew/Muslim which believes in the same god so I kept coming back to this god. It took me a while and a lot of debate on the Bible to decide that I found the entirety of a God to be completely fictitious. After all I had studied astrophysics and chemistry which led me to believe in science and not God. I found that atheist seemed to be more educated about science than the religious population so I proudly pronounced my atheism the best way I could - on facebook.
If this isn't reason for you to dislike me already, I would also like to discuss politics. I am a democrat. First I would like to point out that the constitution specifically states that we are suppose to have a separation of church and state in America and I feel like the republicans are trying to force their Christian agendas on the country with prayer in schools, anti-abortion, and anti-gay antics. The prayer in schools is a no brainer of separation of church and state. It is the same as letting kids go to bible study at a local church during school hours - which I was forced to do until the sixth grade. I am completely against this because not only are they combining church and state but school officials are taking away valuable education time by substituting religious teachings during school hours that are supposed to be teaching kids about math, science, English, and history. When it comes to abortion, I don't think anyone should tell another person what to do with their body. The people against this are the same people who disown their daughters who at 15 or 16 become pregnant. I find their logic to be completely hypocritical. Gays are in the same category. Just because your RELIGION says that a man and a woman make a marriage does not mean the LAW has to say the same thing. If a woman and a woman or a man and a man want to get married why should anyone be able to stop them. No one stops a man and a woman from being married unless one is already married - so whats the difference? My final reason for being a democrat is that I believe in free enterprise - meaning the government should not interfere in economics - especially when the government doesn't have the greatest track record at managing money itself.

I watch NCIS, Leverage, Grey's Anatomy, The Walking Dead and Eureka on tv. I listen to Hanson, Asking Alexandria, Breaking Benjamin, NOFX, WakeyWakey, The Perishers, The Weepies, FX Static, Lady Antebellum, Toby Keith, and Eminem. I play paintball, snowboard, ice skate, and hike. In books I like the Harry Potter series, the Percy Jackson series, the Twilight series (books are way better than the movies), I am Number Four, The Power of Six, Atlas Shrugged, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the Septimous Heap series, The Beyonders, and the Accidental Hero. I prefer young adult books to mysteries or romance novels because of their simplicity. I find that adult novels seem to have a plethora of description with very little action. I prefer characters that do something as opposed to describing a flower for ten pages - this is also why I hate Shakespeare.

I will leave you all with that for now. I need to go entertain some family for dinner now. Merry Chrismakuh and a Happy New Year!!!!!

The Day Before the Day Before Christmas

Since Christmas is two days away, I decided I needed to get It's a Wonderful Life out to watch tomorrow night. For now I am waiting for How the Grinch Stole Christmas to come on the tv. I went to my parent's last night and made cookies with my mom. We ended up with penut butter, chocolatte chip, butterscotch, and my new favorite coconut-walnut-pecan-oatmeal cookies. All of my shopping in done thankfully because I went with my Dad today to find something for my Mom and the stores weren't too bad but the traffic was horrible.
In other joyous holiday news (sarcasm heavy) I lost my job last week so now I am trying to enjoy the holidays and keep my mind clear. After New Years I am going to apply for some security guard jobs and I've made it my pre-resolution to get into shape so hopefully by my birthday in July I will be able to join the military.
I am excited about Christmas though. I got my mom a Kitchenaid blender to go with her mixer - a light pink, I got my dad a resetting target and five boxes of bullets for his 22, and I got my brother two dvds (The Hangover 2 and Jeff Dunham).

Just have a little faith

The internet at work was not working the last couple of days and yesterday I wasn't on the computer. Today however, I am really glad I got on the internet - I found an Atheist Comic Strip. This could not come at a better time with Christmas coming and all of the religious people speaking up even louder than their usual shouting.

Then there is the great Santa Claus/Jesus belief:

My favorite quote that irritates me more than anything else - mostly because I've heard it so much, is "You have to have faith in God. It doesn't come down to scientific evidence, it comes down to faith." To this statement, I've realised is completely true. What is faith? Faith by definition is, "Belief that is not based on proof." Knowing the definition completely justifies religious belief. If you say that you have to have faith that God exists then what you are really saying is you believe in God for no reason at all. In physics and all other science classes in school, you learn that something exists because there is evidence that it exists. Fish live in water by the evidence that we see them living in the water and when we take them out of the water they die. Since God is supposed to be even greater and more powerful, logically one would presume that there should be far more evidenciary support for the existance of God. Since no evidence is available to support the existance of God, that means that God doesn't exist. Since there isn't any evidence that God doesn't exist, we cannot prove this any more than we can prove fairies, unicorns, dragons, or elves don't exist. If you believe in God based on faith, meaning you believe in God with no evidence, how can you disprove that the Greek Gods or Egyptian Gods or Wiccan Gods are all not as real as the Christian/Jewish/Muslim God? The Bible itself says that faith is "being certain of what we do not see" - in other words, believing something for no good reason other than that you want to believe it.

Enough about my rant on religion. I want to know why I do not have snow by the heaps outside right now. I live in upstate NY and normally we have enough snow to snowboard in by December. This year, we've only have a coule days where it flurried, only one of which left snow on the ground the next morning. Come on! Upstate NY no longer gets snow anymore? I have to move to New Mexico or Arizona to get snow! What the hell? I don't know how many more weekends I will have off from work and I would really like to go snowboarding before I go back to working every weekend. Don't even complain to me about global warming either when the entire south west was hit by a massive snow storm and we had almost 70 degree weather - I will high-five your face.

Hopefully the internet will be working better tomorrow and I will have more updates when available.

Christmas Party

Today started off wonderfully with snow dusting the ground. A perfect setting for the Christmas Party that we were having at work today. As I drove to work however, the snow diminished into silent water droplets on the windshield. My dreams of finally being able to go snowboarding dashed. The party started at 6pm which was supposed to be our first 15 minute break. As we munched on a full feast - ham and turkey galore, I watched the clock close in on 7 pm and I was completely content. Afterwards, being full of food left us highly unmotivated. We rested until our 8:00 lunch period when we decided to move to a more comfortable venue of lounge chairs. Only when 8:30 rolled around did we all decide we should probably get back to work. All in all, I really enjoyed today and hope my employment with this company continues.

Boredom

Today was almost as uneventful as yesterday. Aside from waiting all day for a FedEx truck to come (which never did) and walking a mile to do laundry at work (when I rarely make the three foot hike to do it at home) I have been completely bored today. I even tried to sleep in but I was so worried about missing the stupid FedEx truck, I couldn't even relax.
I work in a department of about 40 people. Now aside from me, the youngest person out of all of them is 42 and more than half are close enough to retirement that you can tell the've been with the company for forever. I am only 23 and when I listen to all of the old men and women talking and joking about sex it makes me want to gag. Most of them are fun to hang out with but at their age I think the topics they talk about are weird. I kind of wish they were more people my own age working with me - at least one other person. They joke that I'm a baby and I guess compared to them I really am.

Monday ugh

Not much happened today so I made a list of goals for the week:

Goal 1: Nutrician
I am planning on eating healthier meals during the day and at work. The time has come for me to no longer eat half of a large pizza.

Goal 2: finacial
I am current on all of my bills and I wish to stay that way even through the holiday season. I also soul like to start setting $50-$100 aside for emergencies.

Complete Opposites

Yesterday I was exhausted and didn't want to do anything all day. Today was the complete opposite of yesterday. I cleaned my bedroom, rearranged my bedroom, did two loads of laundry, and assisted my parents in repairing the sink's water pipes. I wish I had tomorrow off as well so that I could rest from the work I did today. I've even uploaded some pictures to facebook of me and my college friends.
Last night I had no significant dreams after staying up late watching X-Men Origins Wolverine. I feel most of the time that my life is way too boring. I don't go out to the bars because my friends are mostly those that I met freshman year in college and now they are scattered out across the country. I have no one to go out with and even if I did, I wouldn't be able to drink because I would be driving 30 miles home - I do NOT drink and drive. Normally when I go to the movies, ice skating, or snowboarding I go by myself which sometimes becomes even more depressing. Have you ever went to the theatre to see one of the Twilight sequels by yourself?
Next weekend I can't decide if I want to go to the movies or ice skating or roller skating. Hopefully I don't feel as terrible as I did this weekend.

A Waste of a Day

Today I planned on going to the Christmas Festival and then ice skating. My motivation significantly declined as the day progressed until about 4pm when I decided that I didn't have the money this week to go out so I needed to save my gas for work. Now I sit watching a movie and playing a videogame simply waiting to go to bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

The Weekend is Here!

I was completely excited this morning. On Fridays, I have the option of working an earlier shift or coninueing on the 4 to midnight. Very few people work 4-12 on Firdays and those of us who do tend to get our work done early. I was excited because I figured I could finally upload a digital copy movie to my iPod and wath that for the remainder of the night after hurrying around to finish my work. Well, first the Internet at home wouldn't work, then the Internet at work wouldn't work, and then iTunes wouldn't work, and finally my battery on my laptop died before I could get the movie downloaded. Irritating! So now I will have to male due with Robot Chicken on YouTube - but next Friday BEWARE I will have my movie!

Another day another... dammit!

Today was not a good day for me. I woke up super early for no apparent reason other than an exceptionally weird dream about being chased by a horse in a straight jacket. Before today, I couldn't even picture a horse wearing a straight jacket. Then I couldn't figure out why my truck was rolling forward after I put it in park. I finally realized that my foot had been on the clutch the entire time which made me feel like an idiot. Now at work, I am working with a woman who said she was angry today so we would be able to finish quickly tonight but she told me just now that I'm going too fast. WTF?
